decanter-san-franciscoDecanter is a known accessory for the local pseudo-classy, wine chasing doucherati. I believe that this blog has made it abundantly clear that we are due for a new, far more important device with a somewhat similar name

Imagine a gadget that magically removes or at least drastically reduces entitlement mentality and cures or at least curbs the resting bitch face syndrome. How cool would it be to press a button and have the “I am God’s gift” attitude transform into a warmer, sweeter and more down to earth energy.

This device would be unisex, because there are of course plenty of men cunts in this town as well.

It’s Good For You To Be Treated Like Shit Every Now and Then

angry girl slapping hitting a guyYou have become all too used to being catered to no matter where you go. (800) customer support numbers that are there for you 24/7, generous refund and cancellation policies, waiters, hostesses and baristas kissing your ass, and that “customer is always” right bs have really gotten into your head.

Being treated like shit can really help you get over yourself and that repulsive sense of entitlement of yours, burst your little first-world bubble, and remind you that you are not all that, not to mention the fact that it can also be a turn-on. This is especially true if you are white.

My First Encounter With American Entitlement Mentality

I remember overhearing for the first time how someone mentioned paying taxes when complaining about something not being done right. This was just a few weeks after I came to the US. Since then, I have heard it a few more times in substantially the same context – someone is bitching about something they think they deserve because they pay taxes. I am still puzzled by this. With the exception of a few very wealthy countries out there, everyone pays taxes everywhere, and in most places the taxes are higher and often significantly higher than anywhere in the US. Yet, I have never heard anyone complain about taxes in other countries.

Taxes is not something you bring up and debate. It’s just part of life, like weather and mood swings. The fact that we dare to talk about paying taxes as if we were doing a favor to our government is one of many signs of our overblown sense of entitlement, which I find to be one of the more repugnant human traits.

Half the Looks, Twice the Stance

half the looks twice teh stance in san francisco

Half the look, twice the stance near Equinox.

Confidence is an admirable quality, while insecurity and low self esteem are traits that we know hurt us and in more way than one. However, there is a such a thing as too much confidence and self-esteem that’s too high without much to back it up. Excessive confidence and self-esteem that’s too high are far more annoying, especially when at best average looking  women have a stance that suggests that they think that they look like models.Do they stand that way on purpose? I don’t know, but it doesn’t really matter. What matters is the energy that they convey with their “I am the shit” demeanor, which might be a turn-on sexually to some guys, but such a turn off in every other way. This ties into that sense of entitlement, more common among San Francisco’s white residents, which are often accused of being “vanilla” and not just physically. Watching and observing women who stand like that is bitter-sweet, and is the second best thing after wasting hours on watching reruns of Jersey Shore, or Montel. Often half the looks go together with both twice the stance and twice the attitude, which is a particularly obnoxious combination.
