A Suggestion for A New Traffic Rule That Will Also Help Us Deal with Entitlement Mentality

If you are about to cross the street, and there is an upcoming car 100 feet away or closer, that car should have the right of way. It’s much easier for a pedestrian to wait for a couple of seconds, than for a car to come to a complete stop and then start driving again after his majesty has crossed the street. This new rule will contribute to reducing gas consumption and pollution, due to reducing the number of stop-and-go’s.

Just as importantly, this new rule will make a small dent in the local sense of entitlement, and will remind pedestrians that they are not in charge of the city’s roads.
