Going eating and drinking door to door together does not define real friends and real
connections. Simply enjoying to be in each other’s company, or walk down the street together does. I wish I saw more of that in SF – a beautiful city where there are so many spots, known for some of the best view in the world, and which appear to have been designed for intimacy – both platonic and romantic. This includes the Embarcadero and Coit Tower, which are not being visited by locals nearly as often as they should, even during the warmest evenings of the year. In fact, the Embarcadero, which is arguably the main artery of the city seems to be pretty low on red blood cells. Come 9-10 pm, and it’s completely empty.
It’s a shame and sad reminder how little desire and appreciate for romance exists in this area.
